thisorthatshow.in is a static website. It has no accounts and no login, and nothing you type into a calculator is ever sent anywhere: those numbers are worked out in your browser and stay on your device, which is why a calculator keeps working if you go offline.
We do use Google Analytics to work out which pages are worth the work. It sets cookies and records the usual things an analytics tool records: which pages you opened, roughly where in the world you are, and what sort of device you used.
We also record what happened on the page, because "forty people opened the retirement calculator" tells us nothing useful on its own. So we count how far down a page people scrolled, which links they clicked, whether they pressed play on an episode and how much of it they watched, what they typed into the search boxes on the episodes, guests and funds pages, and, on a calculator, how many of the controls were moved and for how long.
What we never record is the numbers. Not one figure you type into a calculator is sent to Google or to us, and neither is the answer it works out. We can see that someone moved six sliders on the retirement calculator and stayed four minutes. We cannot see their salary, their age, their corpus or their shortfall, and we have not built the ability to. The same goes for the "Find your money person" form: we count that it was sent, and the details themselves go only where this page says they go.
We have switched off Google Signals and ad personalisation for this property, which means your visit here is not added to an advertising profile and is not used to target you anywhere. We use this to understand pages, not people, and we never try to work out who you are from it. You can switch it off for every site with Google's opt-out add-on, or by using your browser's tracking protection, and the site works exactly the same either way.
The "Find your money person" form sends what you wrote (name, age, goals, contact details) directly to us over a secure connection, and it is stored in private storage on our hosting provider (Vercel). We use it for one thing: making the introduction you asked for. We do not sell it, add it to marketing lists, or share it beyond the professional you asked to be introduced to. Want it deleted? One email and it is gone.
If you sign up for Slow Thought, we store the email address you gave us, and the page you signed up from, in the same private storage. We use it to send you that one weekly email and nothing else. Every email has a way out, and you can also just write to us and we will remove you.
Like almost every website, we rely on a few services that receive standard technical data (IP address, browser type) when pages load: Vercel hosts the site, Google Fonts serves the typefaces, Google Analytics counts the visits, and YouTube powers the episode players; YouTube sets its own cookies when you play a video. What Google does with the data it receives is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
