Why we're fussy about registration

India has two kinds of money help worth having: SEBI-registered investment advisers, who are paid by you and owe their advice to you, and AMFI-registered mutual fund distributors, who help you invest and earn a commission from the fund house, disclosed upfront. Both are regulated, accountable and checkable. Everyone else with a hot tip is entertainment, at best.
